					<title>First stage of new song &quot;Electric Light&quot; complete.</title>
					<link>http://blancatransfer.com/home.cfm?feature=1044646&amp;postid=703657</link>
<description>Last week blancatransfer started back into the studio once again to begin work on the first of 3 new tracks. We have returned to our home away from home, Doppler Studios, and to its owner and good friend Alberto Caballero to begin again the task of piecing together sonic audio noise in the hope that the glue will hold and the parts will fit together like perfectly unshattered broken glass. Next weekend we will begin recording guitars and, time willing, the vocals. For the session I&amp;#8217;m probably going to use my Fender Telecaster guitar but might also get a hold of a Gibson Les Paul and Stratocaster just in case. Amp wise we&amp;#8217;ll have to experiment a bit. The last time we used a Roland Jazz Chorus criss crossed with a Koch, miced the whole room and let the sounds from both saturate the whole sonic field but this time we might keep it simple. Looking foward to it andto hearing the results.
D.

<title>Some thoughts from Derek on the &quot;Album Launch&quot;.</title>
					<link>http://blancatransfer.com/home.cfm?feature=1044646&amp;postid=202823</link>
<description>This moment has been coming for many years, but now all of us here in the blancatransfer camp feel that this is the real beginning. Everything before this has been a build up, a preperation. 10th April 2010 is the date and we hope that our album will begin to make its way into as many peoples lives as possible. &amp;quot; The experiment that is our lives&amp;quot;, our debut album, has many influences behind it and there are many people to thank for that. Composer Derek Corr describes it as the &amp;quot;culmination of 10 years of trial and error in terms of songwriting&amp;quot;. Having begun to compose at the age of 15, Derek feels that its only now he&apos;s getting to grasps with some of the deeper relationships between people and this music we create. &amp;quot; Its real, alive, now. I never fully appreciated before the deeper aspects of what music truly is. Its almost like a language. We take a language we are fluent in for granted but its the language learners who know the real stuggle involved in learning a new language. Music today is so global and the industry is changing so fast, its easy to forget its essence. It&apos;s like the old carpenter&apos;s being forgotten (never mind replaced) and we accept the fast, attractive turnover of the multinational furniture makers with discount prices as standard&amp;quot;. We truly hope that we can transmit this essence to our listeners both in recorded form and at our live shows. Our dedication to playing and writing music as close to its essence as possible is what drives us. We feel we have captured some of it in this album but there is much more to write, record and perform. We aim to bring the live experience to the studio and the studio experience to the live. Peace!</description>
